Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 large celery stalks, washed and trimmed
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped carrots

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Cut celery stalks into 3-inch pieces, ensuring each piece has a deep groove to hold the peanut butter mixture. Rinse thoroughly under cold water and pat completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Combine peanut butter, Greek yogurt, and honey in a medium mixing bowl. Stir until the mixture reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency.
  3. Fold the finely chopped carrots into your peanut butter mixture.
  4. Using a butter knife or small spoon, generously fill each celery groove with the peanut butter mixture. Pack the filling slightly above the celery edges and smooth the top surface.
  5. Arrange filled celery pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they don't touch each other. Place in the freezer for 2-3 hours until completely solid.

Notes

Always verify peanut butter contains no xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. Serve one chew per 25 pounds of body weight as an occasional treat. Store in freezer bags for up to three months. Don't skip drying celery after washing to prevent ice crystals. Not suitable for puppies under four months old. Serve directly from freezer for maximum cooling benefit.
